Join Our Board of Directors

Thank you for expressing an interest in applying for the Board of Directors of The Arc of Weld County. We greatly appreciate your willingness to dedicate your time, skills, and resources to advance the cause of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As per our Bylaws, all board members are expected to maintain active membership status within our organization. This requirement is often essential for our grant applications, which The Arc of Weld County frequently pursues. The annual membership dues are $5.00 for self-advocates or $25.00 for individuals, encompassing membership in both the State and National Chapters of The Arc. Your commitment to this membership is vital in supporting our mission.

The Board may require a background check on all new Board Members. Do you provide your consent for this transaction, as the expense of The Arc of Weld County?
The Board holds a business meeting lasting approximately 2 hours (6pm-8pm) every other month in-person with a virtual option on the 3rd Wednesday of the months of February, April, August, and December, and an annual retreat for a full day, once annually. The board retreat is typically a Saturday in June, and the annual meeting is typically a Saturday in October. In addition, you will be asked to serve on a committee, as outlined in the Bylaws. Committee participation is required, and time commitments vary based on the committee(s) of choice. Committee charters can be provided to an applicant at their request. This related time commitment varies, as a few hours annually, scheduled intermittently per the committee(s) determination. Are you able to make this time commitment?
Every Board needs a strong mix of skills to be effective. The following is a list of strength areas; please check those that apply to you and add any additional skills that you possess that you believe would be beneficial to The Arc of Weld County.

Thanks for submitting!
